The CGDP is now offering anti-wrinkle treatment. This might seem an unusual service at a dental practice but who knows facial anatomy better than a dentist? And who is more adept at needlework?
Anti-wrinkle treatment is becoming increasingly popular in modern society and it is now as common as hairdressing or dental appointment!
As part of a natural ageing process, we develop crease lines most commonly on the upper part of the face and around the eyes which can contribute to an aged appearance.
Initially, these creases can only be seen during facial expression with frowning, laughing and smiling and are referred to as dynamic lines. However, over time these dynamic lines become etched into the skin resulting in permanent static lines
Anti-wrinkle injections are a form of botulinum toxin, a protein that has been used for medical purposes for more than 50 years. It works by blocking the release of chemicals that tell the muscles to move therefore reducing the activity in that muscle. This prevents new creases forming and reduces the appearance of existing ones.
In basic terms, it disables the muscles you use to make facial expressions that cause the skin to wrinkle. The procedure only enhances your existing facial qualities.
No. You can still manipulate your facial muscles to form all the usual expressions – just line free!
The needles are so tiny that they can break through the skin easily and painlessly; similar to acupuncture treatment. Although some people report mild discomfort, most feel no pain at all: some even say it’s relaxing!
It takes about 30 minutes for an appointment and between 3-14 days for the effects to fully develop. These effects will last around 3-4 months, so follow up treatment is recommended.
Prices start from £245 for one area, so come on in for a consultation and we’ll see what we can do.
